After meeting up with Rhie Rhie for some coffee, I came home and started cooking dinner so that I can use the leftovers for lunch on Monday.  Then ring ring, “Genki Ramen in 30 mins!”  I finished cooking dinner and ran out to the sunset to catch dinner with the usual crew.  The ramen was good, although I wasn’t a fan of the slab of butter on top.  Yes, I ordered the butter & corn ramen, but who would’ve thought they just throw a slab on top?!!  After dinner, I refused to go to Genki crepes a few blocks away for more food.  I don’t know why I refused, because I ended up following everybody and eating it anyway.  If I was full after the ramen, now I was super full.  And fat.  But it was all well worth it.

butter and corn ramen, sans the butter

mmm~ delicious dessert crepes

peace!

Aimee visited SF again on her way to Korea this time.  It was another short visit so a quick dinner was all we could fit in as a group.  We headed to a restaurant called Firefly, and as usual it was good times catching up with everybody.

Firefly!  The jar was also for sale for $25.. $25! I’d think about for $1

The group!

Appetizers and meals; both appetizers were delicious, the meals were just so so.

They had a good prix fixe menu/deal so I had an appetizer, meal AND dessert.  I am a pig.

How clever

aimee made a short visit to SF on her way home from korea, so the local SF’ers and aaron + urim caught a quick dinner together @delarosa.  the place was surprisingly good, and enough room to seat everybody and more.  seeing her reminded me of how so much has changed since i’ve moved to SF… with aaron & paul moving… aimee, jannet and phil coming and g0ing… etc…

the han’s and i

the girls’ beer all came out in tall glasses, while mine came out in a small cup :(

but it was nothing compared to aaron’s tiny drink.  nice scarf aaron, ho ho ho.

food was delicious! and they gave us an extra pizza for free because they made it by mistake!

after dropping aaron + urim… uron?  aarim?… we headed back to my place for a quick game of speed scrabble and then out to bubble lounge for some drinks.

i should’ve been given a handicap for being english-deficient…  i tried

omg… crepes a go go so good…

the next day we went to ikes for lunch.  pretty little tree in the mission

long lines as usual

i love ikes

we really dropped the ball and completely forgot about will’s birthday back in august.  to make up for it (hey, better late than never right?!) a few of us got together for dinner at the recently opened burger bar in union square.  the burgers were delicious, but i have to say, they were quite overpriced.  i suppose this restaurant is the meaning of paying for the atmosphere.  we also saw hubert keller walking around the restaurant, and even going to the bathroom!  it was pretty cool to see a celebrity chef cooking at the restaurant you were eating, and it probably the expensive burgers worth it… almost.

aaron & lezlee!  and grace in deep thought about what to order ^_____^

yes, the burgers were good, no doubt about that!

the shakes were also delicious (and also expensive, ho ho ho)

it’s been awhile since i’ve been to LA (going on 4 months!), and because SF has no decent korean food, the group took a trip after work to oakland.  we found ourselves at sahn maru; the food wasn’t cheap, and they cooked the meat for us in the kitchen, but it was pretty good nonetheless.  i’ve also been craving soju for sometime and this meal did the trick.

the banchan here was pretty good; lots of variety and tasty for the most part

unlike a lot of complaints on yelp, i thought the service was good.  free dwen-jang jjigae!

i prefer to cook my own meat but this was a nice change of pace

ssam!  bite of garlic in every bite~ gilroy! here we come!!!

chris was still hungry so we stopped by berkeley for some yogurt.  mmm~ yogurt/paht bing soo combo

will likes to cook dinner every now and then… and he decided to throw one on sunday.  he said he would be cooking steaks… but i was not expecting a king sized NY strip.  thanks will (and phil) for the incredible dinner!!

i forgot what this was called… but it was good

a meal is never complete without the right beer pairing!

my contribution of the night… i cut the bread…

ginormous steak with mashed potatoes, salad, and brie… it was really good
