The weather this weekend was absolutely perfect and thankfully I was able to take full advantage. I played my weekly twilight round at Palo Alto Muni after work on Friday. It’s kind of a reward to myself for making it alive through the week. Although, to say that I get a ‘reward’ seems a little ridiculous since I don’t actually do anything… ever. But I give myself a reward anyway because I can, and I will continue to do so until somebody says I can’t with a damn good reason.
Today was also my 3 year anniversary working at my firm. That means… 1) My 401k is 40% vested… 2) I fulfilled my work experience requirement for one license and am a year away from the other, and 3) I should really work & study harder and make something of myself before I’m saying this very same thing… only on my 10 year anniversary. That’s really all I have to say about that.

Me in 10 years... I don't even have a cool red stapler!
Saturday’s softball game ranks #2 in my all-time greatest softball moments (#2 of… well, 2 moments I can remember). The greatest moment is still when my team won the intramural league in at Michigan. Seems like it was just yesterday… it was dawn and the lights were starting to come on at Elbel Field- we were playing at the far field next to the IM building. The air was warm but crisp, and Sam caught a fly ball to end the game. We jumped up & down in exuberation at the pitcher’s mound and went to Charlie’s to celebrate. We got a table outside and order a pitcher… and didn’t even realize till later that I just walked into a 21 and over bar without being ID’ed (I was a freshmen… everybody else were seniors). Sam offered me a beer but I turned it down…

04/30/2011: Smack My Pitch Up @ Jackson Field
Anyway… back to Saturday. I was 4/4 on little bloopers right over the infield before stepping up to the plate for the fifth time. It was the bottom of the last inning with our team down 2 runs, man on first & second. I stepped up, and saw the pitcher turn to the outfield signaling them to come closer- understandable since I’ve been hitting annoying little bloopers all day. But the pitcher then told the outfield to come closer and closer until they were hugging the infield. Insulted? Naw~ but I saw an opportunity to hit something other than a little blooper. I grabbed the heavy bat that the big boys use, and hit the second pitch as hard as I can. The ball didn’t go very far… but the outfield was playing so close that it went over their head and I hit a game winning walk-off HR. Yes, I did that and it was awesome.
There wasn’t much time to celebrate though because we had a tee time right after the ball game. Chris, Doug, Peter and I arrived a little late, but it was okay since I was all warmed up from the softball game anyway (and who cares about the other guys right?). My awesome Saturday didn’t continue though because I couldn’t putt to save my life, and Chris could do no wrong. I’m glad Peter was there to cushion the loss though… and though I didn’t win anything, I didn’t lose anything either
By the time we got to Brian’s party, I was exhausted and basically passed out like a little girl (no offense to little girls). I can’t remember the last time I passed out at a party… I must have been really tired and must be really old. Thanks for hosting B!

04/30/2011: Crystal Springs GC w/ Doug, Peter & Chris
The awesome weekend did pick back up with flag football on Sunday. We played the first place team, and I guess they’d been talking some smack about us. We were all pretty motivated to put on an ass-whooping… and we did. Not only did we win, I think we beat them by a large enough margin to take over first place. Woohoo!
