We designated Labor Day 2011 as, wait for it… Suburbia Night!  We headed down the peninsula to Malibu Grand Prix for some batting cage action and miniature golf.  The batting cages reminded me of high school when the fobs used to go to a batting cage in Michigan, making bets on how many balls you can hit over the cage.  The biggest bet however, was who could throw the ball and make it into the hole that the ball shoots from.  The rule was that everybody had to pay the winner $5, but nobody ever made it.  Seems like it was just yesterday when I sat on the rail and started planning for the annual fob camp… now we’re all old, boring and too busy for our own good.

09/05/2011: BOOOOM! Lezlee hitting it out of the park @ Malibu Grand Prix

09/05/2011: Moving on the miniature golf. 36 holes!

09/05/2011: Grace did the most work today. Axed down a dozen trees.

09/05/2011: Suburbia Night 2011!

09/05/2011: Finishing Suburbia Night @ Red Robin

The long week of events continued with dinner at nopalito with Jean, Hana & visiting Lisa to catch up.  The wait was close to an hour, but the wait is easy when you’re with good company… of alcohol.

08/25/2011: Nopalito; my beer, Hana's beer that wasn't, and Lisa's juice.

08/25/2011: Everything, especially the chips, were yum.

08/25/2011: Visit again soon, Lisa!

Many of the the warehouses along Crissy Field in the Presidio have been transformed into an adult playground, including a place called House of Air.  They’ve filled the warehouse with trampolines, complete with a main giant room and a caged dodgeball room.  I remember playing in traveling trampoline mini-parks in Korea as a kid, but didn’t remember it being such an exercise!  I was tired within a few minutes and sweating buckets shortly after.

Hmm… so I’ve noticed that my closest girl friends in SF are all getting engaged & married… and mostly moving away.  Girls- if you want to get married, be nice to me!  Yoon is getting married soon and moving to Korea~ hoping & wishing for the best!

08/12/2011: Dinner with Yoon @Ryoko's

08/12/2011: Dessert @Swensen's Ice Cream!

08/12/2011: Yoon's cherry flavor, my mint chip!

08/12/2011: Until next time!

I hear stories of hikes in the bay all the time: fun, scenic, awesome hikes.  After more than three years in the city, I finally got to go on my first one and it really lived up to the hype!  We took a trail around Lands End by master trail guide Sang.  It was nice to be outside taking in fresh air, enjoying nature and the scenery around the city.  The only times I’m ever outside are for golf, football & softball.  I guess golf is a bit like hiking, with a swing of the golf club here and there… and less talking.  Anyway, we had an amazing bbq prepped by chef Brian after the hike and lasted throughout the night.  Unfortunately, the bbq was at Ocean Beach where the wind never stops blowing, and it drops to unbearable temperatures from barely bearable temperatures very quickly.  I am convinced you should never stay out in Ocean Beach for more than 2 hours… and never after sunset.

07/09/2011: Sutro Bath Ruins- looks like ruins from ancient Roman times, but it's actually 'just' about 100 years old.

07/09/2011: Tunnel by the baths. Reminded me of the movie Sanctum... kind of...

07/09/2011: Sampling of scenes during the hike.

07/07/2011: These girls were straight up drinking vodka on the cliff.

07/07/2011: KAPS Hike #1 ftw!
